At the Master’s feet

Dearly beloved,

Greetings to all of you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have entered into the last quarter of this year. Let us give thanks to the Lord for all his providence that we are experiencing in this year.

Every day that we live in this world is an opportunity to be the witnesses of Jesus Christ. How do we live in this world? In Luke. 10: 41 & 42, Jesus told Martha, that you are anxious and troubled about many things but one thing is necessary, Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her. Jesus made this comment when Martha had complained to Jesus about her sister Mary that “Lord do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone.

One day Martha welcomed Jesus to her home. Her sister Mary sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. At that time, she had complained about her sister Mary to Jesus. Jesus told her that Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.

We have so many choices in this world. Out of so many things what do we choose is very important thing. Always we want to choose the best thing. We want to select the long lasting item.  If we make good choice it will boost up our life otherwise it will lose our life.  So choice is very very important. Chose what is eternal and not temporal. What we see in this world will be passed away. But God and his words are unchangeable. So uphold the eternal.

Martha was anxious and troubled with so many things. But Mary was happy. Why? She is at her Master’s feet. Master’s feet is always a safe place and if we sit at His feet it gives us new insights, joy and happiness, gives us courage, peace etc.

In Luke. 7:36-38, we see an incident happened at the house of a Pharisee, who invited Jesus to eat with him. A woman of that city, who was a sinner brought an alabaster flask of ointment and standing behind Jesus at his feet, weeping, she began to wet Jesus’s feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment. The Pharisee who saw this criticized Jesus about it.

But Jesus replied that I entered your house, you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many are forgiven– for she loved much.

Sitting at the Master’s feet is the only way of blessing and it will please our Master Jesus Christ. If we do it, then it will be a good choice. As we are going to enter a new year, let us make good choices and that should have the eternal value. May God bless you all. I wish you all a Happy Christmas  and a Blessed New Year.

Yours in Christ
