Dearly beloved in Christ,

In ancient Roman religion and mythology, Janus is the god of beginnings and transitions. The god Janus is has two faces….one regarding what is behind and the other looking toward what lies ahead. Thus, Janus is representative of contemplation and the happenings of an old year while looking forward to the new. The month of January was named in honor at Janus by the Romans because it is the first month of the year. Janus frequently symbolized change and transition such as the progress of future to past, from one condition to another, from one vision to another. He represented time, because he could see into the past with one face and into the future with other. One face look forward with a hope or great expectations and the second face looking backward with the failure.

We are entering to a ”New Year”. We experienced a lot of blessings and gifts of Nature. We should look back and thank God for His uncountable blessings. At the same time, we should submit ourselves to God for the worse things happened in this ‘New Land’. The Heart felting incidents, innocent murders, wars, natural calamities and so on.

As a faith community, we experienced a bundle of blessings and comforts in the year 2012. He worked for us in our families in the face of our needs, hope and Peace to our bereaved families; He had given opportunities to the parents to become ‘strong in faith’ at the time of the needs of their children. We should count the blessings and give thanks to the Lord. There is not a single family in my Parish who was out of the touch of the Lord. When God expressed his love by giving his son to the world, Son expressed His love by giving His life for the world.

We should take few decisions wholeheartedly in this New Year. Attending the Church Services in punctual time, attending the prayer group and Church prayers regularly, do not make fault in family prayers. You all are doing much more than these. You were behaving in a well pleasing manner with your Boss, and were getting “Good Service Entry” as a credit.

But, how is our attitude towards our Lord Almighty who is the real cause for everything. So, I humbly request you all to take a new decision in the New Year that’ we will praise God with our lives’. Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think…..

Let me extend my sincere thanks to all the parish members for the support and encouragement that you had rendered to me and office bearers of the last year. It is my duty to express good wishes and thanks to the outgoing office bearers for their hard work and commitment. I request you all to continue your support to the new office bearers.

I WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

May the blessings of the God be with you all in each and every deeds of our life.

With full of love,

Jacobachen.
