Vicar's Letters

Dearly beloved in Christ,

Greetings to all of you. We have entered the last quarter of this year. I express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your whole hearted cooperation in all church activities. May God Almighty bless us to continue His Ministry in this world.

Each Sundays of October has its own specialties. The first Sunday is observed as edavaka mission Sunday. It emphasizes the spiritual growth of lay people.  Each marthomite is a missionary. This is the motto of edavaka mission. Let us rise up to the motto of this organization.

Dearly beloved,

Greetings to all in the precious name of Jesus Christ. “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others” (Philippians. 2:3-4). Instead of using people for satisfying my ambition, we should have an attitude of to be used for other’s blessings. Consider others as greater than ourselves because nobody is a waste but all are children of God. Jesus considered us, the humans as greater and valuable. That’s why He incarnated. He emptied Himself. Normally people’s attitude is to empty others and become self-satisfied. But Jesus did just opposite of it and this attitude and action should be ours. Otherwise we cannot go in unison and we will be a divided community. So let us try to find out the godliness in others and make our and others life a blessed one.

Dearly Beloved,

Greetings to all of you in the precious name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. This year also God has enabled us to observe the Lent and the Passion of Christ. After the passion we celebrated Easter. We got victory over sin and death. So let us be thankful to Jesus Christ for His Love towards the sinful humanity. I express my sincere thanks to all those who participated in the Lent evening prayers, who opened their houses for conducting this prayer and also in the Lent Special Offertory. We will use that money for charity purpose.

Dearly beloved,

Greetings to all of you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. First of all let us thank Almighty Lord for bringing us to a New Year to live with God and to live for God. Our life is the precious gift of the Lord and we have to handle it with carefully otherwise it will be destroyed and we cannot fulfill the purpose of God in our life. God has given to us so many potentials and we have to use it for the blessing of this world instead of digging it.

Dearly Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We are living in a world were there is much freedom i.e. freedom for speech, freedom for belief, freedom for different modes of enjoyment. Nobody will restrict us. The world goes in this way. But the children of God had a distinct life style. We need to seek God’s will. If we seek the will of God, we can live here in a meaningful manner.

Jesus said “You are the Light of the World”. Every believer and member of the Mar Thoma Church should take up the responsibility to lighten others and hence our motto – Lighted to Lighten.
