“Leave Your Baggage Behind” Mark 6:1-13

If any of you have traveled by airplane recently you may be familiar with the new travel game that many people are playing. For many people the definition of a “carry-on” has broadened to include a large rolling suitcase, an overstuffed backpack, a purse that is bigger than a small-child. The truth is there are many reasons why we carry too much stuff when we travel: We may fear we’ll end up needing something that we’ve left behind.

In Revelation chapter 3 verses1-3, there is a message to the church of Sardis. This is a warning and wake up call to the end of ages.  The time of grace is going to be over. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve lived with God, hearing His words and obeying them.  Their spiritual eyes and ears were open to see and hear God. They were happy and content in the Kingdom of God.  But Satan made them fall, all the blessings were taken away and they were thrown out of the garden.  Then God sent Jesus to save and redeem us by giving His life as a sacrifice on the cross.  Now we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ.

Greetings to the members of New Jersey Mar Thoma Church, Randolph,

We have entered the final quarter of the year 2013, and this is a time to thank God for His blessings, mercy, and grace upon us. It is also a time where we think about our lives, and see how we can be more creative and productive in God’s kingdom.

Dearly beloved in Christ,

Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I consider it as a privilege and honor for me to greet the members of New Jersey Mar Thoma Church, Randolph through the monthly news letter of the parish. Now we are in the post-resurrection period. We have been meditating on the Cross of Christ during the lent season, particularly in the passion week. The cross reminds us of God's unfathomable love for the world. Jesus said, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another (Jn. 13: 34).

Jesus said “You are the Light of the World”. Every believer and member of the Mar Thoma Church should take up the responsibility to lighten others and hence our motto – Lighted to Lighten.
