Dearly beloved in Christ,
Greetings to all of you. We have entered the last quarter of this year. I express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your whole hearted cooperation in all church activities. May God Almighty bless us to continue His Ministry in this world.
Each Sundays of October has its own specialties. The first Sunday is observed as edavaka mission Sunday. It emphasizes the spiritual growth of lay people. Each marthomite is a missionary. This is the motto of edavaka mission. Let us rise up to the motto of this organization.
Young people are the power of the church, a nation and political parties. So they have to be strengthened every day. They should grow in their faith in the Lord and also in prayer. Otherwise they will be weakened day by day. If they are becoming weak it means the church is getting weak. So my dear youngsters be strong in Christian values and faith.
Family is the basic unit of church and nation. Those who are born and brought up in good family will be an asset to the church and nation. Family is the divine plan of the Lord and we have to fulfill God’s will through our family life. Pass on to the younger generation our faith and practice that we received from our forefathers. We should stay together and also with the Lord. We will be having our parish convention along with the family Sunday. Let us pray for its blessing and let the convention should rejuvenate our Christian family life.
We observe the first Sunday of November as world Sunday school day. We know how important is Christian education and through it let our children should know God and to grow having faith in God. Let us pray for our Sunday school children and their teachers. In this month we will be having our general body meeting for electing the office bearers for the next year. Please don’t be absent purposefully. I request the cooperation of all members. This is the responsibility of all the members to be present and do it prayerfully. Never allow our church to get orphaned. We will be having our thanksgiving service in this month. I request your prayerful participation
During the month of December we meditate the birth of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We begin our door to door carol rounds in November to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Your participation is necessary. How do we celebrate the birth of Jesus? Make our life a beautiful one, a life filled with divine values. Otherwise all celebrations will become mere programs of the church.
As we are entering into a New Year let us thank God for all His providence and blessings and enter the New Year with God’s blessings. I wish a happy Christmas and a blessed New Year to all of you.
With love and prayers
Philip Mathew Achen
