It is our honor and privilege to announce the Ruby Jubilee Celebration as our parish marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Mar Thoma Church of New Jersey.
The Ruby Jubilee is an opportunity for us to recall the past and more importantly to look forward enthusiastically to the future.
The theme of this Jubilee Year is “Serve God – Serve People”
The Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa inaugurated the Ruby Jubilee Celebration by lighting a lamp on Sunday, July 25, 2021. A valedictory function to conclude the celebration will be scheduled in 2022.
In the inaugural address, the diocesan bishop reiterated the faith lessons we can learn from the forty years, the Israelites spent in the desert, as they journeyed towards the promised land.
The Diocesan Bishop was appreciative of the commitment of the Mar Thoma Church of New Jersey towards the mission of the church as a whole and its contribution as a parish towards various initiatives such as the “Light to Life” project. He also stressed the importance of discerning God’s will through His Word and re-dedicating ourselves to
God’s service in the years ahead.
One of the highlights of the Ruby Jubilee Year will be the sponsoring of forty children every year for the next five years as part of the “Light to Life” project for their education and overall development. Another significant initiative is to publish a Souvenir to celebrate God’s faithfulness in the life and growth of the parish over the last forty years.
There are many other special events and initiatives being observed and organized throughout the Jubilee Year to mark this momentous occasion.
It is with a deep sense of gratitude and profound admiration that we recall the selfless service, devotion, and loyalty of the pioneers of our parish and the leadership of current and former vicars.
